Tailor-made blends

Differences in water quality sometimes requires tailor-made blends

Much of the fresh water on earth is groundwater. As it travels through rock and soil, it picks up particles of calcium, magnesium, iron, lead, and other minerals. The "hardness" of water refers to the amount of calcium and magnesium in the water.

One function of the Optimal blends is water softening. Since water quality varies from region to region, experiments must be performed with local water to design the tailor-made blends for each plant.

The newest software is used in experimental design to increase the efficiency of the experiments. Multivariation analysis is used to optimize the mixtures with respect to yield, quality, capacity and cost.
